Our analysis focuses on the tools used on a job, the physical layout of the workplace, the environmental factors that affect employees’ performance, and the physical, cognitive and psychological demands of a job. In light of industrial health and safety standards, all elements of risk and hazard are identified to make recommendations regarding physical injury prevention through the modification in work methods, body mechanics training, job task rotation and stretching exercises as well as promoting psychologically healthy workplaces.

The occupational therapists at MHC have gained extensive training and experience to provide thorough guidance in the area of ergonomics.

Active participation of stakeholders including health and safety committee, union, employer, and employee is paramount for policy development, planning, implementation and evaluation of system changes and its impacts in the workplace. Risk management focuses on identifying and eliminating hazards, reducing risks related to hazards that can’t be eliminated, and having personal protective equipment available when needed to develop specific education and training for the specific workplace needs.
